Invisalign is the clear alternative to braces, so you can have straight teeth without wearing conventional metal braces. Having a smile that you are confident with makes such a difference to your appearence and the way others perceive you. Whether your smile needs minor improvements or more extensive adjustments, it is highly likely that Invisalign can help. The aligners are made of clear, medical grade plastic so virtually noone can tell they are being worn! Although the majority of Dr Duncan's patients are treated with the Invisalign system, not all cases are suitable.
Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and then changed to a new one. Having a slightly different tooth position, each new aligner gently guides the teeth in the desired position. These virtually invisible aligners are able to be removed whilst eating and brushing your teeth so they are much easier to keep clean than braces.
The average Invisalign course of treatment takes approximately a year, with visits to the Straight Smile Centre every 6 to 8 weeks to check the progress and for adjustments. Throughout these visits you will also receive new sets of aligners to continue the straightening process. The amount of aligners you will need for your course of treatment will be determined by your orthodontist.
Invisalign can not only straighten teeth but it is successful in treating overbites and underbites, crossbites, overly crowded or widely spread teeth.
Invisalign is all about comfort too! No wires or metal brackets giving you ulsers and sores, the easily removed aligners are moulded to fit your teeth, therefore, nothing rubs on the inside of your mouth.
