Common emergencies
Orthodontic emergencies are rare, but they do happen. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call us at (08) 8364 4311.
Types of orthodontic emergencies
- Loose wires: Sometimes the archwire of your braces can come loose and poke you. If you have a loose wire, you can try to bend it back with pliers or the eraser of a pencil. You can also apply dental wax to it to prevent irritation until we can get you in for a fix.
- Dislodged bracket: If you eat hard or sticky foods or receive trauma to your mouth, it can dislodge your brackets. If this happens, please contact us as soon as possible and bring the loose bracket with you to your appointment.
- Oral trauma: If you have experienced trauma to your mouth within our opening hours, call us anytime. For anything outside of our opening hours, please visit the emergency room.
Emergency appointments
We have emergency appointments available each working day. Please arrange an appointment with us at (08) 8364 4311.
Where possible, we will book you in on the same day in one of our lunchtime emergency slots. If that is not possible, we will advise you on the phone to get you through until our appointment with you.
